It never made any sense to me. None of the scientists I know even remotely resemble the characters in the show.

I can understand comedy that exaggerates the characters istics of their subjects for comedic effect (e.g. silicon valley). But all of big bang theory seems just to have been written by people utterly ignorant of their source material.

I watched the first season (a few years ago) only and gave up. Watching adult actors play teenagers or listen to the same jokes again and again is really boring.

No. For any piece of entertainment media, there are lots of people who can't stand it.

And even a fair number that feel the need to throw their dislike around like it makes them special.

if you treat it is a mindless sitcom then it is just that, a mindless sitcom. I watch the show, it's funny to me. The character chemistry is pretty good too. Sheldon makes the show. I'd stop watching if he left.

At $1 million an episode and in the 10th season, enough people like it.
