I’ve been in too many NIH situations and when someone asks me one of these questions, often my mind isn’t on the solution. Im thinking about if there’s a reason they asked the question, and maybe this was a mistake.

I get so hung up on this it’s changed how I ask the question. The last time I asked a sort question, all I wanted was a compound comparator. And even then I couched it as “we want the rest endpoint to support sort criteria so we can do a top five list, but to sell the idea, we are going to sort in the UI for now. Give me some code to do that.”
