Suggestion if you haven't: take a plastic dental pick and try to get lint out of the headphone jack.

I've had to do this sooner or later to every phone I've owned, except my latest, which lacks this port entirely.

Yeah I’ve done that. No luck. I’ve used switch cleaner on swabs as well. Think it needs a new port. However I can’t be bothered to take it to Apple store yet.
