I started freelancing in 2014 and somehow ended up only working for US companies after 4 years.

Even german startups feel to be a few years behind.

If you don't mind me asking, was it primarily a pay rate issue, or the number of freelancing opportunities that were available?

German IT companies just felt too conservative to me.

I work only remote.
