To go to STEM a person shouldn't be very social to begin with, so social conditioning traditionally doesn't register with them as a problem.

For many of us, when we went to STEM we finally found our tribe and became social as hell.

Liking science or math should require you to be awkward and unsocial? What... the hell.... are you talking about?

What exactly do you think a department chair does at an R1 university all day, hang out on Slack?
