I'm not sure why the author thinks this particular issue is so politically important. It seems to me that a far more important fact, that seems to be getting little media attention, is that the number of excess deaths from all causes in 2020 currently EXCEEDS the number officially attributed to covid-19 (about 200000) by about 100000.
