I am a person who likes to make notes of everything I read here and there since I feel it helps me to understand things better. Wanted to know how many people here make notes of stuff you read at hn since there is a lot of good stuff you come across here.

Website's pretty but doesn't share many details. Any idea how it structures the data? Are there export options (into other, popular formats)? I'm wary of using proprietary DB editors -- when they go away, you start all over. (Been there, done that. Twice.)

Everything is stored locally as plain text files in Markdown. So no proprietary stuff going on at all.
