This is why the other CEOs refused to give the "simple yes or no" answer demanded by Representative Doyle.
If you try to give context you are attacked for being evasive, if you play along, your "admission of guilt" becomes front-page news.
This is not to say the big tech platforms could not have done more, clearly they could, and asking what more could have been done would have been a good thing to ask them.
Come to think of it, it would be a good question for Representative Mike Doyle to ask himself and his colleagues in Congress as well.
