By the time the Chinese are done with Tesla, Elon will be leaving that country in his underwear. They will have his factory, R&D, and anything else of value. They didn't invite him there to build cars, they invited him there to get access to any know how and technology that may be useful.

Reminds me of the Toyota break issue that was apparently just people not familiar with the gas/break location accidentally hitting the gas and then having a panic attack and losing all problem solving abilities.

Precisely two people have done this as a stunt for a potential lawsuit where a driver claims they braked but the car computer says they didnt. the driver blames Tesla for the resulting accident and demands Tesla buy the car back at full price. I think Tesla is in the right here but it could be used as an excuse for the government to give more advantages to Chinese competitors.

Filming the brake pedals to avoid being accused of driving mistakes is a strong sign that these customers do not trust Tesla as a neutral source of information about crashes involving its own cars.

Ok, if you don’t trust the vehicle or manufacturer, the answer is to put install a camera?

A normal person's reaction would be to sell the car asap if the vehicle is so unsafe, won't it? China gonna China.
