Surprise, I've had a few of my patches accepted and this statement is just thinly veiled insult, if I ever saw one.

Have you ever heard of pull requests? Pull requests are 10x easier than adhering to lkml's email rituals.

Git pull requests were invented by the Linux people and they were invented in a context of people sending mails

Git even has a command for that called request-pull[1].

Assuming you have your git config set up to use git format-patch and git send-email, they're pretty easy to use. Plus keeping your local copy of the git repo up to date is easier than keeping your github fork up to date.
