You normally hear of the front-end path as initially easier to enter. Are there any back-end programming paths with a lower threshold to get that initial job?

That's interesting I would say that modern FE development is more complex that say traditional SQl based backend.

I did a one week course on pl/sql (plus one on oracle forms) and was up to speed and working on my first Oracle development
