Per the comments on that blog post, this was previously discussed on HN: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=14170041

I didn't know github comments was a thing, but if it's Microsoft instead of Disqus tracking people everywhere, it doesn't seem like an improvement.

i use matrix.org network using cactus comments instead
