atm writing from kyiv. after a day in fear and anxiety, patreon blocks one of the of the civilian aid resources (prolly because of the amount of money being rolled by ukranians as of today) https://savelife.in.ua/en/donate/ (yeah - shitty en localisation, doubt there was any need before)

Patreon removed the page of the foundation savelife.in.ua. They support the veterans of the Ukrainian army and act as source of news from the frontlines.

Today their account on Patreon was removed and they lost access to the funds donated.

These crowd funding sites are turning out to be a disaster. Too many competing interests, values and laws.

They are claiming that they are spending money on weapons but they don't - as non-profit they cannot do that. Instead they spend all the money on medical kits, medical trainings, night-sight devices and so on.

Here are some details from Patreon. Though "we are investigating" during an evolving emergency situation is the least helpful of approaches.
