That is absurd. If the government wants the money, why doesn't it just tax more?

One of my coworkers told me a long time ago, it's better to increase your withholding allowances. That way the government is giving you an interest free loan.

There's a limit to how much you can do that and not owe a penalty.

Yeah, my goal with taxes is to pay within a thousand bucks of what I actually owe in a year. It's surprisingly hard to do.
