This marks the end of my over a decade-long 1Password journey. Since version 2 I have purchased license after license, including the iOS Pro app which was later sunset, and used and trusted.
I'm so sad to see them go down this route of, and in short and in rough order of importance to me these are the major reasons.
a. Removing the local vaults.
b. Moving to a subsciption-only model (I had no problem paying a lot for stand-alone licenses, it is not the price, it is the tie-in to eventual loss of service if my economic situation changes).
c. Taking in VC money despite being a profitable company and thereby sacrificing individuals for the enterprise market.
d. Electron.
