any time you run a paid ad you'll need it so you don't have a bunch of distractions and people will focus on your call to action.

that is a very good point! for what sort of things do you run the paid ads for? and what do you need in the landing page then? probably some analytics right? and what else? how do you track the effectiveness of your CTA?
