Looking at some videos of the interface in action on Youtube, that seems pretty unique, bravo to the author for the effort.
It might be cool to see it use a system-wide flat icon theme in areas like the settings, where you end up with rows of labeled buttons of different pastel colors.
It also seems to me--could be wrong--that some homage-style window decorations and a windowed interface could be a really nice look as well. In fact the colors and general simplicity reminded me a lot of CDE.
