I rest easier knowing my mom wears an Apple watch, even though she doesn't really know how to use its various features. She does know how to make an emergency call on it, and that's what's important. That, and she rarely misses my calls!

I think it is an oversimplification when folks claim only fanbois buy Apple; there is definitely still a market of the tech unsavvy or folks who just want it to work, not to be customizable or feature-rich or cutting-edge. That said, I do poke fun at my dad and his iPhone whenever we're in bright sunlight and his screen is unusable but mine is fine; that's just sad.
