Was Apple’s 1999 Power Mac G4 Classified as a Weapon? (2014) (opens in new tab)

Fascinating that High Performance Computers had export controls in the 90s as dual use technology but little restraint until recently.

How would we apply this today? Instead of MTOPS use TFLOPS FP16?

I have one of those sitting in my basement collecting dust. I think I paid around $1200 for it. It was by far the worst new Apple computer I've ever bought and the quickest to be obsoleted.
