India drops evolution and periodic table from some school textbooks (opens in new tab)

From my understanding the curriculum will still contain both evolution and the periodic table but in other class years. Not sure why the media are jumping from reducing the amount the two topics are being taught to it being a decision based on promoting Christianity, but it seems to be part of the wider left-wing mantra of "fighting Islamophobia". The children will be taught the topics before they graduate high school nevertheless.

as someone who studied when we had to remember elements from the periodic table, quizzes and such, science experiments (electronics wasn't big back then) or stuff like evolution was discussed as a "fact", like we discuss theory of relativity, evolution would be spoken in the same tone so this is really depressing.

i hope great minds come to their collective senses and force a recall. I cannot imagine the damage this is going to cause
