Steps I've taken and recommended my siblings to take:
* Minimize chemicals in personal care products. Shampoo, soap.
* Minimize exposure to harsh cleaning chemicals.
* Minimize exposure to plastics. Avoid drinks in hot coffee cups, minimize drinking from water.
* Minimize polyester underwear and socks and other skin-compressed clothing items.
* Minimize exposure to chemicals in food - pesticides, crop treatments, and additives.
* Minimize exposure to "bad air" with air purifiers.
* Water filters on taps. I haven't done whole home water filter or showerhead water filters yet.
* Minimize exposure to seed oils.
It's exhausting.
But, what I told my siblings is to start with small changes and make the rest over the next couple years.
As a species we (possibly correctly) chose to get the economic growth that many of the above things enabled, and now that we've achieved the growth, we can start to look at ways to remove some of the downsides. I think that's a pretty common trend in humanity. New tools, use them for growth and benefits, once more prosperous, see downsides, remove downsides, repeat. And it's a reasonable approach.
