Ask HN: Any tips on finding challenging JS/Rails contracts in the valley?

It's time to look for a nice fun contract again, and I'm lucky enough to be in possession of a high demand skill set (Expert level JS/Rails).

If anyone has insight on how to find genuinely interesting gigs in the valley (based in Mountain View), I'm all ears. The usual route of recruiters and job boards tends to result in a flood of interest and offers but less than ideal signal to noise.
