No more new year's resolutions What did you accomplish this year, but unplanned?

I went through some rough couple of months and had talks with friends about the past, the present and the future.

I used to try and plan my future ahead up to the day I'm laying in bed and saying goodbye to my children. Every day made me nervous.

Well, nothing really went as I planned, but every turn in my life was worth it. That's just how life works, I guess. And that's good.

I had the best moments with my daughter in a holiday I never planned, I "accidentally" run my second marathon while doing a long run, I got the fittest in my life, and so on...

So, no matter if it's IT, gardening, or whatever... what were your unplanned accomplishments?
