I'm aware that my question is quite broad, but I've been wanting to build and sell hardware (or at least integrated software). I know just the basics of hardware / electrical / electronics. How to proceed?
If you don't have problems with funding, find a consultant to discuss and implement it. Reducing your idea to practice considering price targets, buildability, reliabilty, standards requirements might not look exactly like you imagine when it only had to exist in your head.
