Somewhat misleading headline. They plan to release a paid version of Alexa AKA Alexa Plus using generative AI, but testing didn't go well and they are trying to rebuild it using LLM tech from the bottom up.
It's kind of crap that Alexa is asking for money for functionality it should have provided from day one (being able to interpret requests with >90% accuracy)
