I made this because I wanted a page on the internet that shows the countries/cities I have been to. In addition to a profile page that shows a map and list of the locations, you can also embed the map to any website with an iframe tag.

Pretty cool. I’ve been using a Google Map for this, adding a pin for each place I’ve been. I use Apple Photos to some extent as well, as there is a map view, but that’s only good for places I’ve been since 2007.

My biggest concern with your project, as well as Google Maps and Apple Photos, is longevity. In 40 years will I be able to look back at an overview of all the travels I’ve taken in my life? I’ve been thinking I should probably have a text document with the basics, so at least I have the information to enter into something in the future, if all the other platforms die along the way.

Good idea. I also have some privacy concerns and would prefer to self-host something like this.

Also the search feature needs a bit more improvement. For example I couldn't find "Turkey" when I had typed "tu" because it's spelled "Türkiye" in the options.

In this context, are you suggesting I should open-source the project? (I'm new to programming sorry)

Also, fixed the Turkey situation. I'll try to fix other stuff along the way.

Pretty neat, thanks for sharing this. I don't exactly share the privacy concerns of the other commenter, but I would feel better with a couple of things:

- Ability to toggle profile public/private - Ability to delete profile - Ability to change username (it's fine if doing so breaks my embeds, etc)

Thanks for checking it out.

I've added a public/private toggle as well as a delete-account functionality in the settings. Changing handles is tricky, and haven't implemented it yet but I'll definitely think about it.
