I will agree with DonHopkins. In your post you are basically spreading misinfo and comparing GD to schizophrenia while using your gay status as a shield. Ironically some of the most transphobic people that I know are gay men, and this is not a revent phenomenon either.

A bit of empathy, an attempt to get informed about what is going on, and trying to talk to trans people about their experiences would go a long way.
