After 5 years, my extension Music Mode for YouTube™ had only 20,000 users. But in early September, it was featured on the Chrome Web Store homepage under "For music lovers" section, bringing in 10,000 new users in a month and driving a huge increase in daily installs!
Music Mode for YouTube™ is an extension both for Chromium and Firefox browsers that its main functionality is to block the video and play only the audio on YouTube Music and YouTube for mobiles. Unfortunately, on YouTube, video and audio are now combined in a single file, so the extension can only hide the video rather than blocking it entirely.
