Timing your strike with election day is a pretty shitty move. I get that the union wants to throw it's weight around and pick an important date, but...
A: management is probably very distracted right now. To add to this, they are not offering a clear and easy to action agreement, management would have to sign a blank check to the union to get their needle back - this is insanely risky.
B: they're using independent journalism as a bargaining chip and lightly threatening Democracy in the process. Don't love that they couldn't literally wait 2 days in an election where trust in media is one of the core issues.
