It doesn’t sound like he was looking for a job. He was trying to start a business of some kind.

A lot of people start a business in parallel with a job search, or once their job search has completely failed. It both feels and sounds better (to a recruiter, or a journalist) than doing nothing.

Sure. But this guy says “At the end of 2022, when I quit my job to work on my projects, I made resolutions: to make $1M in revenue in 2025.”
