So, how is TikTok different from X, Instagram, et al? Are they just smarter in borrowing your focus? For example, one of X key features to get your focus is rage and polarity.

It is video and it has cultivated a community of people who only care about clickbait. At least with X you usually have to write a sentence or two.

Instagram? Facebook Reels? YT shorts? Snap? X’s newish video swipe actions? All have complex recommendation engines built to keep attention.

If you’re going to highlight short form video be complete, else your motivation is sus.
