Show HN: MakerTime – Measure Deep Work via screen activity fed into an LLM (opens in new tab)

This is basically a fitness tracker for your Deep Work patterns, to help you measure and optimize your focus. It's similar to tools like Rize.io and RescueTime, but tries to go a bit deeper and looks at the actual content on your screen rather than just what apps you're running.

You define what "deep work" means to you, and it will run in the background, capture your screen activity, and submit it to an LLM for a score.

You can set daily Deep Work goal targets and be notified when you reach those targets.

I'm taking a privacy-first approach, and it uses a local LLM by default (llama3 running in ollama), and no data ever leaves your machine.
