I remember back a few years maybe a decade, Reddit had done something very bad and everyone was looking to migrate. and there spawns Voat, a fantastic website that did everything Reddit did but better. This lasted for about 2 days until it got hit with a massive never ending ddos attack that I don't think the website ever recovered from. After that it was seemingly drowning in nazi spam posts and the owner ended up abandoning it after some years.
Kinda irrelevant rant but this situation reminds me of this. Every time someone disrupts the big dicks of the space they lash out. I've seen the smearing campaign already start on Threads.
