Note that 'first' and 'second' are not etymologically related to one or two, but to 'foremost'. Therefore, it is would make sense to use this sequence of ordinals:

first, second, twoth, third, fourth, ...

or shortened:

0st, 1nd, 2th, 3th, 4th ...
