Procmail isn't quite as dead as the article claims. I still use it with OpenSMTP on OpenBSD and am happy with it.

Nice report! You might want to reconsider using crontab and @reboot though. @reboot can fail for a variety of reasons. You should probably use your OS's init system instead to start daemons.

Gives nice retro vibes ... mail like we were doing it back at the end of last millenium. Proper old school :)
