The difference is that Boeing and Intel have fierce competition and Apple has phony competition -- Apple's worst nightmare would be that Google kills Android the way Google kills everything else and then they're stuck in antitrust court everywhere.
If it was Microsoft that added anti-anti aliasing to random objects in the Windows interface people would just shrug and and, if confronted, say "What do you expect from your senile uncle?" Microsoft can score an own goal with every other Windows release, in the past there was the consolation that the next release was popular. Today Microsoft talks as if Windows doesn't really matter: it's all about Azure and GAME PASS and Copilot and Dragon Medical and such.
