DOJ and DHS indict 11 for Chinese national sham marriages, incl to US sailors (opens in new tab)

Many of the asian massage parlors have the same scam. They find lonely men and hook them up with girls overstaying their work visa or girls that were smuggled in. Bonus if it's a tech or government worker they can pillow talk secrets from. They have to pay back a large amount of money to the people that smuggled them in. Just anecdotally they get mad if a repeat customer just wants a massage.

“According to the indictment, the above named individuals allegedly engaged in a conspiracy to recruit United States citizens, preferably members of the armed forces, to enter into sham marriages to Chinese nationals for the purpose of evading immigration laws and illicitly obtaining lawful permanent resident status for the Chinese nationals. The sham marriages took place around the country, including in Jacksonville, as well as in New York, Connecticut, and Nevada. ”
