Advice for first-time entrepreneurs?

I'm looking for advice or best practices which are agreed by most experienced entrepreneurs but not by many first time entrepreneurs.

For example, many first time entrepreneurs fear that someone steals their idea so they are reluctant to tell it. However, I think that most experienced entrepreneurs believe that the feedback, connections and sales opportunities outweigh the possibility that someone steals it.
