Show HN: Liquid Budget – A zero-sum envelope budgeting application (opens in new tab)

Hello hackers, I built Liquid Budget, a budgeting application as an alternative to YNAB. The core concept is that every dollar is allocated to digital envelopes, and as daily transactions occur you spend from your envelopes and manage overdrafts, almost as if you had micro bank accounts.

Tech stack: - Frontend: React/TypeScript with Zustand for state and Shadcn/Radix components - Backend: Java/Spring Boot/MySQL

I built this primarily for users who wanted a cheaper alternative to YNAB with a guarantee of no price increases. Along the way I improved on a number of things such as credit card handling, but the main catch is that there is no automatic bank import for transactions. I understand that's a non-starter for many, but not all people.
