Recently my bike was stolen in my home city. I really, really loved my bike. So as you can imagine I was devastated...
But Shawn Achor learned me in his book (The happiness advantage), that every setback has a way up. So I was thinking about some new opportunities that could be taken in advantage over this negative situation.
To find my bike I've hung 'stolen bike' posters all over the city in the hope somebody will find and return my bike. But I didn't quite found a way to 'alert' all the people on the internet that lived like in a radius of 15 km's of me. Sure, I used Facebook and Twitter with the appropriate hashtags, but still i wasn't quite satisfied about how to alert a big group of people of this event in my city. (I used foursquare and placed tips containing a picture of my bike and a short message at every hot spot in town, but that was quite the hassle, and not really what foursquare is for...)
(TL;DR): So my question is this: would you use an app that let you take and share a picture (text, video, ...) with only the people in a specific radius of your location? This could be anything !! Example: a stolen bike, a lost dog/cat, a nice view, ... you name it!!! Other people can react to the picture, or just ignore it. It's quite simple actually. It's almost like Tinder, but not for dating... And hey, tinder works!
Greetings!
I had this idea a couple of days ago to create a website with an overview of all available co working spaces in my area. After some browsing on google I soon find out that my idea is not that quite original.
But on the other hand, i would add these two features on my site, would you use them if a site like this would exist?
feature 1: The possibility to actually book an available co working space in the area. (Not just an inventory of spaces, but also a reservation system)
Feature 2: The possibility to rent out your own personal space to people in search for co working spaces. Just like airbnb, but for offices.
What do you think?
Thanks!
I don't have this feeling when i'm reading books on my ipad or ereader. Or when i'm browsing in an online book store.
I want to preserve that special feeling you get with books.
So here are two versions of my idea:
We keep the idea of ebooks. But instead of downloading tons of ebooks on your ipad or ereader. You still buy them in a shop. But with this difference that you don't buy a book made of paper, but you buy like a DVD styled case with an e-ink screen inside that contains only ONE book. This way you keep the old front and back cover and you can physically see what book you are buying. You can touch it, feel it, show it to others. And more important, after you have finished your book, you can place it in your home library. You don't have to take your ipad or ereader to browse through all the books you have read.
A disadvantage I can see is that there must be a MASS production of e-ink displays... But, bookshops can stay alive, people still can go shopping for books or lend out "real" books to friends...
Another idea:
We keep the whole idea of ebooks and ebook stores like amazon. People just download their books on ipads or e-readers. But their book covers will be synced on special designed displays that you can buy and place in your existing home library. So, out with the old books, in with the displays that show your ebooks. You can't take out any books of this library. But you and others can SEE what books you are reading.
So, what do you think?
