- Firewall: Controls for both inbound and outbound traffic.
- Ad blocker: Something akin to Pi-hole functionality.
- Device isolation: The ability to isolate smart home devices from the rest of the network.
I have considered so far:
1. Firewalla: Most models lack built-in Wi-Fi (except for Firewalla Purple [1]), and shipping to Europe comes with import taxes.
2. Turris Omnia: Seems like a good choice [2] and is built on open-source OpenWrt. That said, I’m unsure how hands-on it would be to configure it for the features I need.
What would you recommend? What do you use at home?

I am a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) practitioner myself, and in BJJ, there are generally five belt levels: white, blue, purple, brown, and black. When you spar with someone of a higher belt rank, you really see that there are levels to the game.
Similarly, even though our skills as programmers aren’t tested in the same way, it’s intriguing to think about what each belt might signify for a programmer.
What abilities should a “blue belt” programmer possess? How would that differ from a “purple belt” or a “black belt” programmer?
For instance, some material possessions may get extended beyond the utility as a way to communicate the level success or traits associated with the material.
It feel like there are some obvious ones. Like living in a certain neighborhood, buying a certain brand of clothes/cars, having a certain title at work, etc..
What are some of the non-obvious ways that you observed?
I am generally happy with with but curious if there are better alternatives that would offer a more productive experience. Curious in particular about WebStorm and Nova.
Any code editors that you are in particular satisfied with?
I do my dev work on a Mac, mainly web development. I generally like to keep my code editor config maintenance minimal.
