Currently living in Vancouver and considering relocating to SF (#mooseblood). I'm planning a 2-4 week trip in August and looking for a few tips and suggestions. If the trip goes well, i'll look to relocate later in the year.
My goals (ordered by priority) :
1) Business networking 2) Meeting great like minded people (founders, people into personal development) 3) Exploring SF, interesting places, restaurants
I don't know many people in SF, but my background is marketing/advertising/product. I have a small team that's working on promo.co . I've spent a few days in palo alto and dt SF, but don't really know the neighbourhoods very well.
I'm thinking about splitting up my weeks in different areas, but open to ideas? Does anyone have ideas/suggestions? I also need a place to work from and looking to meet other founders and hustlers.
Want to keep budget reasonable, open to living outside popular neighbourhoods, and easy access to transit to get to meetings.
Suggestions?
I don't know much about either city, and assume LA has drastically more going on. What are some areas, neighbourhoods, or spaces worth checking out?
Thanks! Kenny
Now, what I was wondering is what would be the best place for me to live in terms of housing costs, startup co-working places, proximity to cool places (nice bars, restaurants, music venues), and overall interesting-ness of the area.
I'm not too familiar with NY, but heard Bushwick and Alphabet are interesting places to live that aren't too heavy on the wallet.
I've been looking on airbnb, but most don't offer monthly rates. Any suggestions or ideas?
Oh and if anyone is interested in getting together for drinks sometime, don't hesitate to drop me a line! My email is in my HN profile.
