Finding an alternative to GitHub is easy-peasy. An alternative to Atom may not be so easy.
Several years ago Oracle got hold of MySQL and Open Office. Two popular projects. Whilst MySQL kept on going Open Office got the brakes on. The latter was kept alive by the Libre Office fork.
Microsoft will now own two popular text editors, Atom and Visual Studio Code. Will it keep both of them? Will they be merged? Will any of them be discontinued?
VS Code is now freely available for commercial use. (I don't think it was always the case.) With the recent turn of events maybe VS Code will go back (?) to non-free whilst Atom remains free but with less features.
Who knows?
«Marshall McLuhan was the first great prophet of what would become digital mass media and indeed the global media village - a thinker and writer of near supernatural foresight.»
This show got me engaged to learn some of his work.
Never have I heard/read about diceware.
I can't see how can this be an improvement over passphrases. Nevertheless I find it super easy to type it in on a handheld.
On my first week in Ruby I've been trying out different editors to see which suits me most: Emacs, Atom, and Sublime.
I would like to know which other editors do you rubyists suggest to newcomers'?
(Thanks in advance. :-)
Edit: Although I'm looking for a free editor feel free to mention paid ones if you don't like any of the free ones.
