Ask HN: Do people treat you differently based on your location?
The prevailing narrative over the past couple of years is that the tech industry is now truly global. It doesn't matter where you live - you can start a company, get funding, or get job offers whether you live in SF, NYC, Taipei, Rio de Janeiro, or wherever.
Is there any real evidence that this is approaching reality, or is it mostly run-of-the-mill Twitter nonsense? Has anyone noticed an objective difference in how potential employees, investors, employers or colleagues treat or react to you / your company based on where you're physically located these days?
