Would be interesting in reading more about this and the psychology behind it.

I'm a second year Computer Science student studying at RMIT in Melbourne, Aus and lately I've been longing to get my hands dirty with some code and get a back to the real reason I started Comp Sci.
Before I started Comp Sci, I was a self taught programmer, absolutely loved working on personal projects and had so many ideas I never knew which one to follow. But now I feel university has really drained me and I'm beginning to lose the drive to build apps and code. Which is why I really feel I need to get my head back into coding and take a break from heavy computing theory, so I can get my mind right and get the drive I once had back.
My university has great ties with industry and I'm getting emails all the time, I however applied for an internship at Fujitsu Germany but the idea of working at a big company doesn't really appeal to me. I like the intimacy of startups and the impact a person can make there.
I'm based in Melbourne, Australia.
Please shoot me an email at william@wporter.com or post your interest and I'll gladly reach out so we can discuss things further.
Cheers William
I'm a 2nd year computer science student with a 3.5 GPA so I'm not doing to bad but I feel like I've gotten by so far on I knowledge I already had and cramming at the last minute. I like to consider myself some what of a uni hacker.
I was never really taught how to take notes in a lecture and how to study for exams. I seems like I'm winging everything. Additionally I exhibit many of the same characteristics as somebody with ADHD and my love of the industry and programming is the only thing keeping me from dropping out at this point.
I feel at some point my lack of studying ability and lack of enthusiasm for studying is going to catch up with me and it's going to be a rude awakening.
So I was hoping the HN community could depart some wisdom to me with some tips and shortcuts they learned while studying at university. And I would especially love to hear from any people diagnosed with ADHD that were able to complete university.
Thanks so much. William
I'm in the process of learning rails and I've studied basic sql at university but I'm having a really hard time getting my head around rails active association.
For instance I'm trying to build a twitter clone. Where users can follow other users and have a homefeed populated with tweets from other users. But I can't seem to get the association of the relation mapped in my head.
If anybody could share their experience with learning Rails assocations or have any resources about it that would be fantastic.
Thanks so much
I've been toying with android apps the past couple of days and cannot seem to get my head around the entire UI and layout development.
I've been programming in Java for the past year so I'm fairly familiar with the language and I've been front end developing in CSS for a couple years now but I can seem to make the transition.
If anybody could point me towards some online resources that would be great.
Thanks a lot
