I'm moving over from Lambda to Digital Ocean since I found it much easier to test locally and iterate. Unfortunately, I'm not too savvy with setting up monitoring so I can see how often failures are happening and how to smoothly deploy changes on DO. I currently have a setup where I pull each individual change into my instance and re-run docker-compose build etc. Would love to learn more about what tools have helped you for logging/monitoring/deployments
I've seen multiple times where I'll be talking in a meeting and there's just dead silence right after, like people don't understand what I'm saying or I'm confusing others. However, I see a lot of other people have a great ability to explain and provide clarity to a situation and what the next steps should be. I'm wondering if this is something that can be learned/if you've tried any systems to improve this quality
I see that some people have really good systems in place (taking notes for every call, morning meditation, etc.) that really help them. Wondering what systems other people use
I was thinking of putting together a quick web app to help people quickly search and save code snippets for later use. I wasn't sure if this was something people would be interested in and thought I'd first reach out to the Hacker Community :) thanks for any thoughts
I noticed recently that a post regarding what hackers were working on/if they were looking for teammates blew up. I was thinking about building an app dedicated to help people find collaborators. Is this something that you would find useful?
I have been working at a FAANG company on a team that has a pretty interesting product. I feel that most of my time, however, is sucked up doing things that no longer about coding or building a successful product. Every new feature we want to release takes so much time, and I'm starting to feel like I have limited impact on the overall outlook of the product. The unfulfilled-ness is starting to get to me and I am losing ideas for a creative outlet. I have tried coding in my free-time, but have just run out of projects that interest me. Sorry about the complaining, but I am reaching out to see if anyone else has been in a similar rut and has suggestions for getting out of it.
