Is being a software engineer a state of mind or an actual profession that comes with certain prerequisites?
My question is, how do I demand respect for my free time without seeming like I’m lazy? Is it possible to be a passionate employee and have a life of my own?
A few weeks ago, a vertical line about 5 cm wide appeared in the middle of my Macbook's display. The colors inside the line are distorted in a regular pattern: whites are always pinkish-purple, blues are a bit greenish, greens are only a bit lighter, greys do not change at all. This is why I am using dark theme on MacOS and all websites.
I've consulted repair services and they are convinced it's the LCD matrix issue and there is no way to replace the matrix without replacing the entire display itself, which costs about 700 USD. At the moment, I cannot afford the repair.
I was wondering if there is software that can provide a temporary solution to color distortion. Maybe it can adjust the pixel colors inside the line so that they correspond to the actual rgb value they are supposed to be.
I realize it sounds kinda dumb and may not be possible at all but still.
Is there a music buff's roadmap, some sort of a chronologically-ordered list of the best and most influential albums that gives a coherent picture of how music evolved over the 20th century? And is that a right approach to becoming a music buff? If not, what is?
I tried to learn unix and shell by installing and using Arch Linux on my old laptop but I just ended up following tutorials without really understanding what I am doing. Right now, I am using MacOS.
What are some good resources that teach you more than cd, ls, mkdir and touch? How did you learn it?
