I'm currently using Preview, which is the default but VERY limited to edit images.
Online we have Photopea which works great, but its online with ads.
I wanted to know if some where using something simple (no need for something as advanced as GIMP or PhotoShop), but with more features than Preview. Ideally something like Photopea.

I most often read HN at night, in my phone, and it does really hurt my eyes. A dark mode would be my goto mode by default (like I always use dark modes whenever possible, even during the day).
Also it seems weird that a site promoting innovation doesn’t bring new comfortable solutions for its readers.
Hello, I have an iphone and did several backups on my Mac (Catalina, latest version). For some reason these backup aren't recognised by Finder anymore (backing up used to be through iTunes but they removed it).
Without backups I had to reinstall all my apps, setup again all my 2FAs and banking security apps... massive pain.
To avoid this again I'm looking for external third-party services to backup an iPhone or an Android phone (so not Google or Apple, but something like Dropbox maybe? that could be specialised in phone backups)
If you know anything that actually works to backup phones, please let me know. Thank you.
