I'm curious about anyone's experience working there. Even though it's apparently highly profitable and stable, it's rarely discussed in the same way as FAANGs. This could be due to its relatively small number of employees. Perhaps also linked to lower salary potential than the large tech corporations, which seems to be the primary motivation for most tech employees under about 30-35 years old

Curious if we could predict a recession, and without ChatGPT’s assistance, I compiled total comments from HN's who is hiring? threads since November 2019. According to Wikipedia, Chinese gov’t records suggest the first COVID infection occurred then.

Numbers are total comments and estimate is >90% of comments are job posts. Summary: February 2023 comments are less than half of the peak in 2021 when several months had >1000 comments.

Looking into web hosting companies, ideally with the following criteria:

- carbon neutral/responsible business operations

- relatively easy to contact the company for support

- prioritizing privacy

1. Does anyone recommend a company that fits the profile?

2. Does the web host affect emails from my domain being delivered to other people’s spam?

3. Opinions on using a web host based in the EU due to privacy policies there vs. the US?

Which forums or websites do you regularly visit to learn and/or share information? These could be forums where you interact with other users or simply browse for information. They might be referred to as "social news websites."

Some prominent sites that come to mind are Reddit, hacker news, Stack overflow, and Slashdot. Quora, although not in its present form, perhaps would fit too.

That list seems like it hasn't changed much the past few years. They all have positives and negatives. If you'd like to share your opinions of them, please do.

Niche forum sites are worth mentioning as well. They don't have to cover the range of Reddit, HN etc. They could be sites about gardening, digital photography, or science fiction. Ideally they're devoid of negativity and encourage civil discourse.

Also interested to know any websites that you visit solely for broad learning purposes. Wikipedia is the most well known example of this type of site.
