on my last attempt now. Last year, I didn't hear back for a solid 10 days after the results were out. Had no way to verify if my company had applied for me in the lottery until the results came out. Is this normal?

I'm running into a frustrating issue where Google Chrome slows down or goes into a loading state while reading big threads on hackernews. (For example this post: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=41002195 or this post:https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=45427982 )

All I have to do is start clicking the minimize button on threads and my entire PC stops responding.

I have a really beefy setup so its most likely not from there

Has anyone else run into this?

So far been able to replicate on: - Windows 11, Chrome v140.0.7339.208

Also tried incognito mode in Chrome, disabled all extensions. Interestingly, doesn't happen on macOS.

Took my perfectly working 2020 MacBook Pro to the Apple Store last week for a battery replacement—quoted $249+ tax. They sent it to their service center, then said it wouldn’t power on, blaming a logic board failure, and upped it to $698+ tax. It worked fine at drop-off.

I've tried my best escalating but to no avail. I got it back unrepaired yesterday and it is completely dead now. It worked before Apple touched it, I don't know what to do, posting this from my phone.

Has anyone dealt with this? Any ideas on how to get it back to working condition again?
